The crash that took the lives of the 149 passengers and eight crew workers.

On Sunday, March 10, Ethiopian Airlines flight Boeing 737 crashed violently shortly after takeoff. The flight was taking off from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and planned to land in Nairobi, Kenya which is said to be a 2 hour flight.

The incident unfortunately took the lives of the 149 passengers and eight crew workers who boarded the flight that morning.

Just six minutes after takeoff there seemed to be difficulties with the plane. In the span of said six minutes, the flight lost contact with its control tower. Just moments later it was crashing down in open land 39 miles away from its takeoff point, in the city of Bishoftu, Ethiopia.

The direct cause of the crash remains unknown, however, there are several suspicions regarding the particular model of the plane, Boeing 737 MAX 8.

These suspicions are valid as the Boeing 737 MAX 8 model is familiar to many of us. This is because this is the same model as the Indonesian Lion Air Jet that crashed after takeoff in October 2018. The flight crashed soon after takeoff from Jakarta, Indonesia and killed all 189 passengers. The new model is being placed under severe scrutiny for this tragic recurrence, as it should be.
